Muttiah Muralitharan
Deshabandu Muttiah Muralitharan is a Sri Lankan cricket coach and former professional cricketer. With an average of more than six shots per Test match, Muralitharan is one of the most successful pitchers in international cricket and the first to hit 800 goalscoring shots in the Tests. As of March 2021, he has hit more shots in Test matches than any other cricketer. Muralitharan's international career has been beset by controversy over his bowling act. Due to the abnormal hyperplasia of his congenital bent arm during delivery, his bowling act was raised several questions by the referee and parts of the cricket community. After biomechanical analysis under simulated playing conditions, Muralitharan's action was cleared by the International Cricket Council, first in 1996 and again in 1999. The International Cricket Council's player ratings for test players over a record period of 1,711 days spanned.
