Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) ranks first among the best universities in Singapore. It is a research-intensive public university with 33,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students in the colleges of Engineering, Business: Science, Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, and its Interdisciplinary Graduate School. The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at NTU was founded in collaboration with Imperial College London.
NTU's campus is consistently ranked among the world's Top 15 most attractive university campuses, with 57 Green Mark-certified (LEED-certified) buildings, 54 of which are Green Mark Platinum. In the 2017 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings, NTU was ranked 11th in the world and first in Asia. In 2017, QS named it the world's finest young university (under 50 years old) for the fourth year in a row. In addition, Times Higher Education named NTU the world's fastest-growing young institution in 2015.
The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) and the Singapore Centre for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering (SCELSE) are two national research centers of excellence at NTU that are tackling significant challenges in environmental sustainability and public health.
NTU is also home to a number of internationally renowned institutes. All teachers in Singapore, which is recognized for having one of the top educational systems in the world, are trained at the National Institute of Education.
