You may have heard that air fryers can occasionally burst or catch fire. Thankfully, there aren't many instances of this happening that have been documented. But when the air fryer burst in the fall of 2021 because a college student left it on her stove and unintentionally switched on the burner. In reality, according to Consumer Alert Now, misuse - including adding too much oil or making other blunders like immersing the fryer in water to clean it - is to blame for the majority of air fryer fires and explosions.
You can never be too careful when using your air fryer, according to Air Fryer World. When not in use, move it away from the wall and leave enough of room around it so that air may flow freely.
