In 2020, the principal maker of the most well-known pharmaceuticals on the market brought in more than $48 billion in revenue, up 3% from 2019. Novartis AG also holds a 33.3% stake in Roche. However, it does not control Roche. Novartis also owned 24.9% of Idenix Pharmaceuticals prior to its sale to Merck & Co., Inc.
