The NUOBELL 80 LB dumbbells are an excellent choice for any expert weightlifter wishing to maintain muscular strength at home or in a small area. Our testers rated these weights favorably for adjustability, stating that they can be readily changed between workouts with a quick twist of a lever, and that they can adjust in 5-pound increments from 5 to 80 pounds.

However, when we weighed these NUOBELL 80LB dumbbells in our lab, we discovered that the weight requirement was actually 6.4 pounds - much higher than what the manufacturer said. This - along with the fact that the items need gradual weight increases in 5-pound increments - makes these adjustable dumbbells unsuitable for novices.

Although the dumbbells do not arrive completely built, setup and unpacking are reasonably simple (our tester took less than 8 minutes), and the sets come with a handbook that includes step-by-step instructions and photographs for a six-step installation. A lifter who is intermediate or expert should have little difficulty putting them up, but a beginner may want some more guidance.
