One Dollar Beach
One Dollar Beach, located on the outskirts of Dili, is one of the most tranquil yet cheerful spots. The beach got its name from the one-dollar taxi ride from Dili to the beach in 2002. The One Dollar Beach is a stunning landscape of verdant palm trees, velvety white sands, and aquamarine sea water that is secluded from all the urban bustle. The beach strip, which has a natural beauty, now has sheds and towers that are ideal for a weekend picnic. The ocean water near the beach is popular for snorkeling and diving and is frequented by both locals and tourists.
It is a beautiful beach with turquoise blue, crystal clear water, surrounded by rocks, almost deserted, with no awning or chair, so bring your own, as well as something to eat.
