Ordinary People (2018)
Im Jin-sun directed The Villagers (Ordinary People), a 2018 South Korean action thriller starring Ma Dong-seok and Kim Sae-ron. On November 7, 2018, it was released. Gi Cheol starts working as a contract gym instructor at a high school in a rural community. He is perplexed because a female high school student has gone missing, but no one in the community seemed to care. Only Yoo Jin, the missing girl's companion, believes her buddy has been abducted. Yoo Jin and Gi Cheol collaborate to recover the missing girl, but Gi Cheol discovers that signs of the missing girl are vanishing.
The girl's disappearance remains a mystery, but Gi-cheol has peculiar feelings about the community following his arrival since everyone seems tense and worried. After becoming acquainted with one student, Yoo-jin (Kim Sae-ron), and discovering her skipping class in the afternoon to go look for her best friend, Soo-Yeon (Shin Se-hwi), Gi-cheol (Ma Dong-seok) realizes that Yoo-jin is the only person in the entire town who appears to care about finding the missing school girl and discovers that many girls are missing in the village with the police not caring about the case.
Gi-cheol submits a letter of Power to Search Warrant to his friend Inspector Dong-soo to commence the inquiry. He also discovers cameras in the girl's toilet after discovering some girls smoking tobacco at the toilet and discovers that the art teacher Ji-Sung (Lee Sang-yeob) was actually Soo-Yeon's kidnapper after checking his text messages between him and Soo-Yeon and also discovers that Ji-Sung is about to meet Yoo-jin, who rushes to save her.
