Paradox Interactive
Stockholm, Sweden-based video game producer Paradox Interactive AB. In 2004, the company's video game section was separated off from Target Games and Paradox Entertainment (now Cabinet Entertainment) to become its own company. The firm has evolved to encompass nine first-party development studios, including its flagship Paradox Development Studio, and works as publisher for games from other developers through a combination of expanding internal studios, forming new studios, and purchasing independent developers.
Paradox has developed strategy games in a variety of scenarios, including historical ones; role-playing games; video games that simulate business operations; and other types of games, such as management simulators. They are well-known for making games that are simple to modify and for continuing development of their titles long after they have been released.
In addition to video games, Paradox has also made board games based on several of its properties, and after purchasing White Wolf Publishing in 2015, it now has the rights to publish the World of Darkness tabletop role-playing game series. Since 2017, anyone can attend their annual convention, PDXCON.
