Smartphone users can utilize TrueCaller's caller ID, call blocking, flash messaging, call recording (on Android up to version 8), chat and voice over the Internet, and other functions thanks to this software. Users must provide a valid, industry-standard mobile phone number in order to sign up for the service. Both Android and iOS users can download the app.
Despite having its headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden, TrueCaller was created by a small team in India. The firm, True Software Scandinavia AB, was founded in 2009 by Alan Mamedi and Nami Zarringhalam but is privately held. On July 1, 2009, it was released for Symbian and Windows Mobile. Release dates for various platforms range from September 23, 2009, for Android and Apple's iPhone, through February 27, 2012, for BlackBerry, March 1, 2012, for Windows Phone, and September 3, 2012, for Nokia's Series 40.
TrueCaller's 120 million monthly searches of its phone number database were performed by its 5 million users as of September 2012.On January 22nd, 2013, TrueCaller announced that it had 10 million active users. TrueCaller boasted 250 million users all around the world as of January 2017.As of February 4, 2020, it had more than 200 million monthly users around the world, with 150 million of them in India alone.
