Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia
The Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia (PUC) is a private university in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh. It is accredited by the Royal Government of Cambodia's Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport and offers an English-based education in all subjects. PUC was initially established in 1997, but was not in operation until January 1 2000, the beginning of the new Millennium. PUC is a private higher education institution. It was founded by a group of Cambodian expatriates from the United States of America with the goal of contributing to the development and enhancement of Cambodia's human resources, as well as playing an active role in the "nation-building" process for future generations.
It is considered a large university, with over 24,000 students enrolled. Foreign students are welcome to apply to the university. The university employs more than 1500 teachers. Students are also drawn to the university's well-developed sports infrastructure. It is a member of the ASEAN UNIVERSITIES NETWORK as well as the Eduniversal International Scientific Committee and the Eduniversal Evaluation System (EES).
