Royal University of Phnom Penh
The first in the list of the best universities in Cambodia is Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP). It is Cambodia's national university, located in the capital of Phnom Penh. It was founded in 1960 and is the country's largest university. It has approximately 20,000 students enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate programs. It provides degrees in sciences, humanities, and social sciences, as well as vocational courses in information technology, electronics, psychology, and tourism. Through the Institute of Foreign Languages, RUPP offers Cambodia's premier degree-level language programs. The ASEAN University Network has granted RUPP full membership (AUN).
RUPP has over 420 full-time staff. Its 294 academic staff members are all tertiary educated, with 24 PhDs and 132 Master's degrees among them. They are supported by 140 administrative and maintenance personnel. The university maintains connections with Cambodian and international NGOs, universities, and government ministries. As a result, international and non-governmental organizations, as well as government offices, regularly contribute adjunct faculty members to help RUPP expand its capacity. The Institute of Foreign Languages (IFL) is the most well-known division at the Royal University of Phnom Penh and in Cambodia.
