Western University

Western University, Cambodia, founded in 2003, is a private higher-education institution located in the capital city of Phnom Penh by its owner, H.E. Te Laurent. H.E. Laurent, the Chairman of Western University, is a graduate of the University of Sorbonne in Paris, France, with a degree in Economics in Finance and Banking. The University is constantly strengthening its administrative and academic processes in order to provide high-quality education in support of the human resource development that Cambodia requires to support its development. To that end, it has launched a program to improve the quality of its teaching in order to meet international standards.

Western University was granted the authority to issue FYCC in academic year 2005-2006 for implementing the FYC based on ACC approved curriculum. WU is working with ACC to ensure and improve the quality of higher education in Cambodia in order for it to meet international standards. ACC is an institution tasked with managing and accrediting all Higher Educational Institutions that offer Bachelor Degrees and/or higher degrees, as well as ensuring and improving the quality of higher education in Cambodia to meet international standards.
