Suriname is a welcoming country. When someone invites you to visit their house, the invitation is genuine, and the door is always open. There is no need to schedule an appointment. You are welcome to drop by unannounced. Surinam's population is made up of people from several ethnic groups.

Hindus, Creoles, Bush Negroes, Javanese, Chinese, and aborigen Indians make up this group. Conflict between ethnic groups is unusual in Suriname. Surinamese people are known for being open, pleasant, and generous. Traditional Surinamese practices have survived despite the impact of American entertainment and fashion on Surinamese culture.

Suriname is a multiethnic and multilingual society that is home to individuals of many ethnic, racial, religious, and national backgrounds, with Old World immigrants and their descendants accounting for the bulk of the population. As a result, the Surinamese associate nationality with citizenship and commitment to Suriname rather than ethnicity. Apart from the indigenous people, practically all Surinamese or their ancestors immigrated from Africa, Europe, and Asia since the Age of Discovery and the creation of the colony of Suriname.
