Plaja Gura Portitei

Tulcea is 50 kilometers away from this lovely Romanian coastline. From Bucharest, you can drive to Tulcea and then board the boat from there. There are two sorts of boats to choose from: private and public. The public boat runs three times a day and takes about an hour and a half to complete the journey; the boat departs from Tulcea at specific times. There's also the private transfer, which is significantly more expensive but much faster (just 15 minutes), with three boats available each day.

The beach itself is breathtaking, with the delta behind you, a plethora of fauna (particularly birds) close, as well as golden beaches and a great surf. There are reed umbrellas and sun chairs on the beach where you may get some shade from the scorching summer sun. There is only one resort in the region that offers a wide selection of housing options as well as a beach bar where you can purchase drinks and snacks.
