Playa Guardalavaca
Guardalavaca, located in the municipality of Banes, is the third most important tourist destination in Cuba. Little by little, it has been increasing its tourist potential thanks to its incredible beaches and lush vegetation.
One of the must-sees is its beaches, of which Playa Guardalavaca is characterized by its seashell shape and fine white sands that extend into the crystalline waters. To the north of the area, this beautiful beach is surrounded by a coral barrier that adds tranquility to its waters, while to the south, it is covered with thick green vegetation. In turn, and somewhat further, the Playa Esmeralda and Playa Pesquero will make you fall in love. This unforgettable site will bring you back to the idea you once conceived of Caribbean beaches.
Otherwise, you can visit Parque Natural Bahía Naranjo. This nature reserve has a lot to do, located next to Bahía Naranjo.
To the south of Guardalavaca is Yaguajay, a typical Cuban village, where you can visit the Museo Nacional Camilo Cienfuegos or take an excursion to Rancho Querete, where you'll enjoy the natural swimming pools with Clearwater surrounded by a green rainforest.
Christopher Columbus described Playa Guardalavaca as the most beautiful place he has ever been. It is well worth a visit.
