Pointe Indienne
The Congo's coastline, which is open to the Atlantic Ocean, is 170 kilometers long. It is made up of a series of shady bays and lagoons surrounded by mangroves. The bays of Pointe-Noire and Pointe-Indienne offer a magnificent backdrop. The 'wild coast' region near Pointe-Noire has several stunning beaches and fishing chances.
This wonderful length of sandy beach 19 kilometers north of Pointe-Noire is ideal for a day excursion away from the city. On weekends, it's popular with locals, and there are several hotels and restaurants nearby, but during the week, you'll have the place practically entirely to yourself.
From Pointe-Noire, take the N5 north and exit at the roundabout a few kilometers south of Diosso. The beach is reached via a difficult maze of sand pathways.
