  2. Plage du Peuple is located in Goma, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo's Kivu province. This little sandy beach is popular with families with small children and is a great place to spend a fun beach day. Lake Kivu's water is tranquil and safe for children to swim in, and there is a playground for them to enjoy. You are welcome to bring your own food and have a picnic in the sand. Because the beach is so small, it can get crowded on busy days, especially on weekends.

The creation of this area is the product of a collaboration between the Provincial Government of North Kivu, through its Ministry of Planning, and the Fund for the Consolidation of Peace (FCP).

Despite the fact that the German Cooperation funded all of this work, no amount was disclosed to the public on this occasion. Julien Paluku, who got this book from the Goma Municipality, asked for its proper management. He stated that access to this infrastructure will be free, but under the sole supervision of the municipality, which will then decide the terms of access to this public place.

As a reminder, a National Deputy elected from the city of Goma recently condemned the takeover of this portion of the People's Beach by a person deemed "powerful" by the community.

  3. Côte Sauvage is the jewel of Pointe-Noire, a lengthy stretch of gorgeous landscape. It's ideal for surfing and long walks, and it's also a great location to just sit and relax. Local and modern international restaurants and pubs, ranging in price, are strewn throughout the road. Obviously, the best cuisine provided here is fish.

The beach is cleaned on a regular basis, so it's always a delight to come; however, avoid going at night when it's deserted and lighted. Sundays are also fairly busy, but whatever the time or day, it's always an excellent location to unwind with a beer. It should be mentioned that the sea may be rather choppy with strong currents, so even if you are a skilled swimmer, it is best to keep near to the beach.

  6. Loango Bay is one of the few rocky areas on the Congolese coast. These waters are sheltered from the strong sea currents that constantly sweep the country's beaches. In this creek spared by the swell, an important biodiversity has developed around the piles of rocks. Thus, throughout the year, a large population of sea turtles, mainly juvenile green turtles, but also hawksbill, olive ridley and leatherback turtles are concentrated in this area.

Loango Bay is also a historical site of the slave trade. It was indeed one of the main gates for the embarkation of the unfortunate candidates for this forced exile.
