Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece
Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece married this lovely bride, whose maiden name was Marie-Chantal Miller, in 1995. She really lived up to her new royal status in her magnificent lace Valentino wedding gown. The gown originally cost £173,250 and is now worth £295,478. It is one of the most expensive celebrity wedding dresses ever produced.
As a result, Valentino was enlisted to do the couture work. The ivory silk gown was embellished with rose appliques and had a lace bodice and sleeves with extra flower designs. For both the ceremony and the lunchtime celebration at Hampton Court Palace, the bride donned a pearl-encrusted Valentino gown with a four-meter Chantilly lace train. It took twenty-five seamstresses four months to complete, and twelve different types of lace were utilized. The Antique Corsage Tiara, a gift from Queen Anne-Marie, was paired with a four-and-a-half-meter-long Chantilly lace veil with a scalloped edge and butterfly embroidery.
Cost: Around £295,000
