Rhodium
This exceedingly uncommon precious metal is defined as a silver-white, robust, corrosion-resistant inert transition metal. Rhodium is a noble metal that belongs to the platinum group. It was discovered in 1803 by William Hyde Wollaston and named after one of its chlorine constituents, which is rose in color.
It can be found in platinum or nickel ores, along with other platinum group metals. Around 80% of the world's Rhodium is utilized as one of the catalysts in a three-way catalytic converter in automobiles, similar to the world's second most expensive precious metal, Palladium.
Rhodium's current price per gram is $260.42, making it the most costly precious metal.
