The top dermatologist-founded skincare and cosmetics company, Rodan and Fields, has its corporate headquarters in San Francisco, California. Drs. Katie Rodan and Kathy Fields launched the business in 2000, and it was immediately acquired by Estée Lauder and distributed through major department stores. Nevertheless, in 2007, the doctors repurchased the business and introduced a consumer-connected commerce business model, including MLM sales techniques to boost earnings.
