Russia
Russia or the Russian Federation is a country spanning Eastern Europe and Northern Asia. It is recognized as the largest country in the world with a cover of over 17,125,191 square kilometers or 6,612,073 sq mi and covers more than 11% of the world's land area. Russia is also the most populous country in Europe and the 9th most populous in the world with a population of about 146.2 million. The main capital of Russia is Moscow, which is also announced as the largest city entirely located in Europe.
Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, the Russian SFSR reconstituted itself as the Russian Federation and has been, Russia maintained as a federal semi-presidential republic. Headed by President Vladimir Putin, who has dominated the Russian political system since 2000 and raised Russia to become a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, a member of the G20, the SCO, the Council of Europe, BRICS, the APEC, the OSCE, the IIB and the WTO, the leading member of the CIS, the CSTO, and the EAEU and home to 30 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Russia is a country with strong potential, it is ranked 52nd in the Human Development Index with free education and healthcare for the whole population. On the other hand, Russia is a recognized nuclear-weapons state, possessing the world's largest stockpile of nuclear weapons with a powerful military. Extensive mineral and energy resources have made Russia among the leading producers of oil and natural gas in the world.
