Sal Rei
Sal Rei, the capital city of Cape Verde's easternmost island, maintains a laid-back vibe despite housing more than half of the island's inhabitants. The city's main square has an African flavor to it, with vendors selling wares and colorful flowers and structures.
The plaza is a fantastic area to do souvenir shopping while visiting Cape Verde, with anything from wooden trinkets to flashy textiles on sale. Along with the various colonial structures, the city's baroque style church is one of the city's principal tourist attractions. If you're feeling adventurous, there are additional beautiful beaches to visit.

January, February, March, April, May, June, July, November, and December are all dry months for Sal Rei. September is the wettest month of the year.
