Sasa Polyester

SASA is one of the biggest producers of polyester, polyester-based polymers, specialty polymers, and intermediates in the world. SASA is able to handle the whole process, from design to manufacturing to distribution, because it is the leader in its field, has a strong technical background, and has a culture of innovation. It also has a high production capacity.

Since its founding in 1966, when it first started making polyester, SASA has kept its fast growth rate going by making investments every year. In 2000, SASA teamed up with the world's largest chemistry company, DuPont, to stay at the top of the polyester business and make its position even stronger. As a result, the company became known as "DupontSA."

When Sabanc Holding bought Dupont shares in 2004, the company's name was changed to ADVANSA. In 2005, the company for the group in Turkey changed its name to ADVANSA SASA Polyester Sanayi A.Ş.. In 2011, Sabanc Holding bought all of the shares of ADVANSA BV. In September of that year, it changed its name from ADVANSA SASA to SASA.

On April 30, 2015, ERDEMOLU Holding bought the shares of Sabanc Holding. This created a new ownership structure in which ERDEMOLU Holding owned 51% of the total shares and the rest were held by the public. At the end of the forced share takeover process in August 2015, ERDEMOLU Holding A.Ş. owned 84.80% of SASA Polyester Sanayi A.Ş..

SASA
uses technologies from Nobel, ICI, and DuPont. It has a strong technical infrastructure with more than 4,300 qualified workers, high-capacity and leading production facilities, and a Research and Development Center that was set up in 2002.

SASA's head office is on an area of 2,181,000 m2 in Adana, which is also where its combined production facilities are. It also has a 55.625 m2 raw material storage facility in Iskenderun and liaison offices in Istanbul and Ankara.
