Scotty Bowman
William Scott Bowman, OC (born September 18, 1933) is a former head coach of the National Hockey League (NHL). With 1248 regular-season wins and 223 Stanley Cup playoff wins, he ranks second all-time (after Jean Béliveau's seventeen) for most Stanley Cup victories by a player, coach, or executive. St. Louis Blues, Montreal Canadiens, Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Detroit Red Wings were among the teams he coached. He is presently the Chicago Blackhawks' Senior Advisor of Hockey Operations. Bowman is widely regarded as the best coach in NHL history.
In 1976–77, he had only eight losses, which is still a current record. His teams also had a record 13 Stanley Cup Final appearances and 16 semi-final appearances. Scotty Bowman also spent his life helping hockey, winning the Lester Patrick Award in 2001 for his invaluable contributions to the sport in the United States. On a different note, during his career, he managed some of the most valuable NHL teams. His net worth is estimated at over $11 million.
