Shah Alam Community Forest

The Shah Alam Community Forest (SACF) is located between Setia Alam (Sect U13), Alam Budiman (Sect U10) and NusaRhu (Sect U10) in Shah Alam, Selangor. SACF is currently owned by the State Govt (130 acres) and PKNS (300 acres) and is highly at risk of commercial development.

SACF is 430 acres of lowland rainforest that has been selectively logged. SACF serves as an important ecological corridor connecting the two remaining patches of Bukit Cerakah forest reserve: Subang Dam water catchment forest and Taman Botani Shah Alam, both of which are thought to still be home to the endangered Malayan Tapir and other threatened species. The SACF forest is a primarily mature forest with large, tall trees, with a smaller area of secondary growth. As the name implies, it is a forest used for recreation by the surrounding community and beyond, particularly hiking, mountain biking, and simply enjoying nature in general.
