ShinBay is the home of Japanese cuisine in Arizona and is one of the top 100 restaurants in America according to OpenTable. Offering a modern and contemporary take on Japanese cuisine, with an emphasis on Omakase dining. Omakase is a Japanese concept in which the chef chooses the meals rather than ordering them a la carte, comparable to a tasting menu. This style necessitates a competent chef with a refined palate, which ShinBay's executive chef achieves with his selection of complementary items.
Chef Shinji Kurita specializes in a modern take on traditional Japanese cuisine. ShinBay in Scottsdale was a semifinalist for the James Beard Foundation's "Best New Restaurant" award in 2012. Chef Shinji Kurita was a semifinalist for the James Beard Foundation's "Best Chef Southwest" award in 2013.
The cost of dinner at SHINBAY is $185 per person, not including drinks and taxes. The dinner experience should last roughly two hours. The dress code is relaxed and informal. Gratuities are automatically deducted from the total bill at a rate of 20%. Each evening, SHINBAY offers two seatings, at 5:45 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. We demand a credit card number to ensure reservations due to our restricted capacity. Credit card information is only kept on file if you cancel your reservation within 48 hours.
Reservations must be canceled, modified, or reduced in number of people in party with more than 48 hours (2 days) notice to avoid cancellation charges. To avoid a cancellation fee, cancellations for groups of 5 or more must be made at least one week (7 days) prior to the reservation date. If you want to increase the number of people in your party, you'll need to give us sufficient notice, which isn't always possible.
