Slow Jogging: all you need to know to get started
SLOW JOGGING is an exercise program developed by Prof. Hiroaki Tanaka based on years of research at Fukuoka University, Japan, as well as his excellent running career. It was previously unknown outside of Japan, but is currently getting more and more popularity worldwide. The name "slow jogging" was used to emphasize that, while this is an activity that is generally associated with running quickly, slow can be an excellent method to accomplish it. It's a more efficient, healthier, and pain-free way to run for people of all ages and walks of life.
The idea is to keep a niko niko pace, as the instructors put it. "Smile" is the Japanese word niko niko. Unlike typical training, which needs concentration and effort, Slow Jogging is more like going for a walk, with an intensity low enough to enjoy conversation or simply grin if you're alone. For the most part, this entails jogging at a walking pace.
Slow jogging, on the other hand, isn't only about the speed; it's also an injury-free running technique that allows for a safe start and efficient progression. This course covers everything from the basics to the theory and science underlying the landing technique, including an introduction, basic actions, and extensive explanations.
By the end of this course, you'll be ready to start the workout habit you've been waiting for, as well as a lifetime of injury-free running.
