Solta Island
Check out visiting the mountainous island of Solta in central Dalmatia to get away from the tourists while still getting an island experience. It has some excellent beaches, notably Strainska, and is less popular than nearby Hvar and Bra. On the island's southern shore, a private pebble beach rests on a lovely blue bay surrounded by bleached white cliffs and a few cottages (some of which can be rented). Because the water gets deep, it is a fantastic area for swimming.
The beach on Solta Island is easiest to reach by boat, although it is also accessible via a walking and cycling track from GornjeSelo. Arriving by foot offers a strong first impression: you will emerge from dense pine woods at the top of a hill and be treated to a magnificent panorama before descending to the sea. Walking from Strainska to other surrounding beaches in the same bay is also an option. Maloalo is to the left, and Veloalo is to the right, both of which are white-pebble beaches that are generally deserted.
