Sorsatunturi
Sorsatunturi is known as the fourth-highest mountain in Finland. It is a 628-meter-high peak in Salla, Eastern Lapland, Finland, close to the Finnish-Russian border. Part of the fell's eastern slope lies in the border zone. Sorsatunturi is about a half-hour drive from Naruska.
The landscape around Sorsatunturi is flat to the south but steep to the north. Sorsatunturi is the highest point in the area. The area around is quite sparsely populated, with about 2 people per square kilometer. There are no communities nearby. Subarctic woodland grows sparsely and is often low-growing in the area near Sorsatunturi.
A 15-kilometer-long hiking track leads to the summit of the fell, where you can stay in Metsähallitus' hut. In the winter, there are snowmobile tracks on the slopes that you may ski along to get to the summit of the mountain. Skiing is also popular in Sorsatunturi. The slopes are all-natural.
