Yllästunturi
Coming the third place on our list of highest mountains in Finland is Ylläs, or Yllästunturi in Finnish. It is a 718-meter (2,356-foot) high fell in the municipality of Kolari in Finland's Lapland Province. Ylläs is bordered by two villages: käslompolo to the north and Ylläsjärvi to the south. They are linked by an 11-kilometer route that winds around the side of the fell. Both villages rely heavily on tourism for a large portion of their revenue.
Ylläs is a well-known cross-country and downhill skiing destination. "Ylläs on ykkönen!" is the area's marketing slogan. (Finnish for "Ylläs is first!"). After Levi, Ylläs is Lapland's second-largest ski resort. Many businesses in the Ylläs area have adopted the fell's name, such as the Ylläksen Nousu sports club in Ylläs.
Ylläs is also a popular summer tourist destination, with activities such as hiking, biking, fishing, and canoeing available to visitors. During the summer, the gondola is open, allowing it simple to reach the top of the fell and enjoy the panoramic views. Aside from the gondola, you can also walk from the west via a summer trail and gravel road, and from the north along a road.
