Stay Hydrated with Water and Electrolytes
Did you know that feeling fatigued or drained is one of the earliest indicators of dehydration? That's true – not drinking enough water might be the source of your low energy and exhaustion. Because our bodies are mainly water, even minor changes in hydration can have an impact on your metabolism. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and other fluids throughout the day. The National Academy of Medicine recommends 9 cups of fluids for women and 13 cups for men per day.
However, a more exact quantity may be established by dividing your body weight in half and drinking that many ounces every day (plus more if you work out, are really active, are pregnant, nursing, or are fighting an illness or disease). If that sounds like a lot, keep in mind that many meals, such as fruits and vegetables, contain water as well, so increasing your consumption can help you stay hydrated.
