The story of Stone & Wood began in 2008 when three friends - Brad, Ross and Jamie, after many years in the brewing industry and with a passion for good beer, they wanted to start their own business.

Inspired by the idea of a 'village brewery' - that is, a brewery that produces quality beer while benefiting the wider community - Brad, Ross and Jamie founded Stone & Wood in a modest factory complex in the industrial area of Byron Bay and began following their vision of creating a conscious local business.

They are proud and lucky to call the northern rivers their homeland. The area's passionate community has inspired the values and culture of the business, while the surrounding natural beauty is reflected in their beers. They also brew beer for Northern Rivers special moments after an inland hike, instead of listening to music with a live band or immediately going surfing, their beer is for those times like this.
