Take a trip to Cajon Del Maipo

This beautiful canyon, located on the western border of the Andes about two hours southeast of Santiago, is a trekker's dream, offering incredible mountain beauty and stunning sceneries. It's simple to understand why so many folks come here for a weekend getaway. Among its natural beauty, the reservoir of Embalse del Yeso, located 2,500 meters above sea level, has human imprints. It is a major tourist site and a magnificent marvel of engineering that feeds water to Santiago and is surrounded by gorgeous mountain scenery.


There are several activities accessible in the region, including trekking, horseback riding, skiing, and even wine tasting, and its closeness to Santiago makes visiting the canyon simple if you have your own transportation. Avoid weekends whenever possible to avoid local crowds.
