Witness the Magnificent Patagonia Glaciers

Patagonia is a geographical area in southern South America that is controlled by Argentina and Chile. When in Chile, especially in Patagonia, one must see at least one of the country's jaw-dropping glaciers. The glaciers are among Chile's most magnificent natural phenomena, and each year millions go to see them and participate in the highly organized tourism trade that aims to protect the fast-vanishing ice coverage. There are several magnificent glaciers that may be visited. The Grey Glacier, located in the southern Patagonia ice sheet, covers about 270 square kilometers and stands 6 kilometers wide and 30 meters tall.

Further north, the San Rafael Glacier, the closest tidewater glacier to the equator, has an area of 760 square kilometers. Unfortunately, glaciers continue to diminish each year as a result of human environmental activities, but they remain a magnificent sight, the final vestiges of the ice era among humans. There is a new tour offered that visits an area named Canal de las montañas or 'Mountain waterway'. Every year, just a few people visit this wonderful, untamed location. Visitors on this adventure pass across a fjord with seven glaciers flowing down the mountains on either side.
