Tales of Demons and Gods
Tales of Demons and Gods is a Chinese anime series, also known as Yao Shen Ji. It is based on a popular web novel and manga. The story follows the journey of Nie Li, who is in pursuit of a mysterious book of time and space spirit beings in the mystical world of spirit beings.
In the series, Nie Li, the protagonist, is a powerful demon spiritualist who died in battle with the Sage Emperor and six deity-ranked beasts. He is then resurrected as his 13-year-old self and decides to use his knowledge from his previous life to train faster than anyone could expect. He also decides to help those who died nobly in his previous life to train faster as well.
His ultimate goal is to protect the city from the coming future of being devastated by demon beasts and the previous fate of ending up destroyed. Nie Li aims to protect his lover, friends, family and fellow citizens who died in the beast assault or its aftermath. And he aims to destroy the so-called Sacred family who arrogantly abandoned their duty and betrayed the city in his past life.
