Taronga Zoo
Taronga Zoo is a zoo in Mosman, a suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, on the shores of Sydney Harbour. On October 7, 1916, it was formally inaugurated. Taronga Zoo Sydney, together with its sister zoo, the Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo, is operated by the Zoological Parks Board of New South Wales under the business name Taronga Conservation Society.
Taronga Zoo is recognized for housing around 4,000 animals of both native and exotic origins. Hundreds of endangered gorillas, leopards, chimps, giraffes, Australian sea lions, koalas, and kangaroos can be seen here.
During the Christmas season in Australia, the "roar and snore" night stay expedition is also available. Rope climbing activities, such as the Rope Challenge of 30 meters and the Rope View challenge, are also available at the zoo.
