Tebogo Malatji
Tebogo Malatji has a BA from Turflup University (now Limpopo University) and a BS in Law from Howard College at the University of Natal (now University of KwaZulu-Natal). In 1998 he was the first black director of a commercial law firm based primarily of African descent in Pretoria, and was promoted to Managing Director in 2005 until 2018 when Malatji & Co Attorneys was founded.
Tebogo's duties include public law, the exercise of government powers, the application of PFMAs, financial regulations and guidelines, corporate governance of state-owned enterprises and the restructuring.
Tebogo advises a variety of legal entities with extensive experience assisting with regulatory compliance and interpretation as well as regulatory requirements of commercial transactions in the public sector. In this role, he helps the corporate world remain legally sound in accordance with the requirements of the regulatory framework in which it operates. Prior to
, Tebogo served as a high court judge in his home country and is now highly sought after by key clients, including senior government ministers. Key clients include the former Minister of Finance, the current Minister of State Enterprises, the current Minister of Economic Development and the former Minister of Public Works, who have been advised on issues of national importance.
Tebogo provides its clients a full range of compliance and advisory services in healthcare and other regulated industries such as financial services and insurance. In addition, he actively participates in the development of draft laws and regularly participates in application and public law process reviews related to the interpretation of laws. He is also a board member of the public and private sector boards.
