Thai Beverage
Thai Beverage, also known as ThaiBev, is one of Southeast Asia's and Thailand's major beverage corporations, with distilleries in China, the United Kingdom, and Thailand. Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi, a millionaire businessman of Thai and Chinese descent, is the owner. Thai Beverage plc, which is traded on the Singapore Exchange, has a market value of more than US$13 billion. The company stated in 2004 that it had been successful in a US$11.2 billion agreement to acquire Fraser and Neave, expanding the group's portfolio of holdings.
Chang beer, which is ranked second in the beer market after Singha, was one of the 58 beer and liquor companies that were combined to form ThaiBev on October 29, 2003. An immigrant from China named Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi is the owner. Oishi, a green tea beverage, and Est, a cola imitation, are brands made by ThaiBev. The Sirivadhanabhakdi family owns about 30% of Thai Beverage. Charoen serves as chairman, and Thapana, his son, is president and CEO. Thai Beverage is traded on the Singapore Exchange since alcohol-related companies are not allowed to be listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET).
