One of the largest brewery in China, Tsingtao Brewery Co. Ltd., produces half of China's domestic beer exports and holds a 15% domestic market share. German immigrants established it in 1903 in Tsingtau (Qingdao), Kiautschou Bay Leased Territory. After consistently increasing its market share by at least 0.1 percentage points every year since 2009, Tsingtao was the second most popular beer in the world in 2016 and held a 2.8% part of the global beer market. On the southern side of Qingdao, near the end of Zhanqiao Pier, is Huilan Pavilion, which is shown in the company's emblem.
