The Battleship Island (2017)

Song Joong Ki appeared in the historical action film "The Battleship Island" in 2017, which had three primary stories. First, there's Lee Kang Ok (Hwang Jung Min), a gifted bandmaster who comes to Japan in quest of financial success. Then there's Choi Chil Sung (So Ji Sub), a street fighter with a kind heart despite his gruff and brutal look. Finally, Song Joong Ki plays Park Moo Young, a member of the Korean independence movement who infiltrates the island to save another warrior.

These three extremely different personalities meet by happenstance in Hashima, Japan, and band together to free prisoners enslaved on the "battleship island". "The Battleship Island" is well worth seeing for its tremendous action sequences, deep themes, and outstanding performances.
