The British School Manila
In the Philippines, The British School Manila (BSM) is a private, nonprofit international school. For students ages 3 to 18, the school offers a British education based on an adapted version of the British Curriculum and the IB Diploma. BSM students are ready for life after school and university, as well as for the end-of-Key Stage exams in primary school, GCSEs at age 16, and the IB Diploma at age 18.
Every building, except the Main Building and Learning Resource Center, is named after places, people, or events in the Philippines. Except for Years 12 and 13, when a maximum class size of 18 is the goal, the maximum class size for all years is 25. There are 22 pupils in each class on average.
The field is used for multipurpose sports like tennis, football, and cricket. This 100x50-meter grass sports field is used for football, rugby, athletics, math classes, well-equipped science labs, and multiple multipurpose rooms. Additionally, it has two cafeterias: one for elementary pupils and another for high schoolers.
For EYFS and Years 1 through 9, BSM offers an adapted version of the National Curriculum of England. After that, students take a variety of Edexcel and Cambridge (I)GCSE courses in Years 10 and 11. Students begin the IB Diploma program in Years 12 and 13.
The school also offers a Service Learning program and more than 200 after-school activities (ASA) catering to different student interests to explore and develop sporting, creative, academic, and artistic in.
The Department of Education Taguig-Pateros and the British School Manila have a long-standing partnership known as the Taguig Scholarship Programme. Academically gifted but economically underprivileged scholars are chosen from a list recommended by the Department of Education Taguig-Pateros. Along with providing full funding for their further education, BSM also offers pastoral support and other resources like workshops on skills and leadership development.
