The Gowanus Print Lab

The Gowanus area of Brooklyn is home to the screen printing shop known as Gowanus Print Lab, which opened its doors in October 2010. This is one of the best Art Classes in NYC. By continuing to be artist-run and attempting to give back to the community, this studio has established an incredible reputation in Brooklyn and across the country. Since moving to Industry City, some of the studio's service offerings have changed.

Gowanus Print Lab provides the best handmade custom prints on a range of wearables and materials in an effort to assist big and small businesses in perfecting their branding and to assist artists in realizing their visions. This class'll (attempt to) print on just about anything flat, including Converse shoes, skateboard decks, and T-shirts.

Teaching silk-screen printing for both fine art and design is the main focus of this community studio and workshop. Introduction classes walk you through the fundamentals of making stencils (both hand-cut and photo-sensitized), blending inks, and using a squeegee to print. The classes cover hi-speed printing utilizing industry-standard four-color methods, as well as specific tuition for printing stationary, wallpaper, and T-shirts.
