The Rising Of The Shield Hero

In the realm of an alternate dimension, Naofumi Iwatani, a carefree Japanese youth, found himself summoned alongside three compatriots from parallel universes. Their collective purpose: to serve as the Cardinal Heroes and combat interdimensional Waves teeming with monstrous foes.

Upon their summoning, each hero was bestowed with a legendary artifact; Naofumi, however, acquired the fabled Legendary Shield, a defensive tool, unlike his counterparts who received weapons designed for offense. Fate took a harsh turn for Naofumi when his sole companion, later revealed to be the kingdom's princess, betrayed him.

She falsely accused him of misconduct, robbed him of his possessions, and left him abandoned. Unaided and scorned by both nobility and commoners, Naofumi faced adversity alone. Despite the kingdom's support for other heroes, he became an outcast, compelled to train in isolation to survive.

In his journey, Naofumi acquired two invaluable allies – Raphtalia, a tanuki demi-human girl purchased from a slave trader, and Filo, a bird-like monster hatched from an egg. Together, they evolved into formidable warriors under Naofumi's guidance.

Through their heroic deeds, the trio gradually earned the trust and gratitude of the people. As they pursued their mission to unravel the mystery of the Waves, they discovered a broader threat affecting not only their world but also others, compelling them to unite and stand as saviors.
