The Shape of Water

Guillermo del Toro's The Shape of Water is a 2017 American romantic fantasy film directed and written by del Toro and Vanessa Taylor. Michael Shannon, Richard Jenkins, Doug Jones, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Octavia Spencer feature in the film. The film concerns a mute cleaner in a high-security government facility who falls in love with a captive humanoid amphibian monster set in 1962 Baltimore, Maryland. From August to November 2016, filming took conducted on location in Ontario, Canada.

The Shape of Water won Best Picture and Best Director at the 2020 Academy Awards, beating out Dunkirk, Get Out, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, and other famous names. Rotten Tomatoes gives the Oscar-winning film a 92 percent approval rating. Those who missed the film in theaters may look forward to the DVD release on March 13, 2018.
