The Silent Sea (2021 —)

The Silent Sea is a 2021 South Korean streaming television series. With the assistance of writer Park Eun-Kyo, director Choi Hang-Yong produced the series of eight episodes as an adaptation of his short film The Sea of Tranquility in 2014. It premiered on Netflix on December 24, 2021.

Set in the future, when the planet suffers from a lack of water and food caused by desertification. This South Korean science fiction mystery follows an astronaut crew on a mission to an abandoned research facility on the moon. They were for a sample of an unknown substance used for an unclear purpose. This fascinating space adventure was concealed with betrayal, governmental lies, and personal secrets. It combines many genres, mostly science fiction, but also thriller and mystery. In general, audiences and critics gave it good reviews.
