Tohoku University
Tohoku University is a Japanese national university in Sendai, Miyagi, Japan's Tohoku Region. It was the third Imperial University in Japan, founded in 1907, and was chosen by the Japanese government as a Top Type university of the Top Global University Project. Tohoku University was ranked first in Japan's University Ranking by Times Higher Education in 2020 and 2021.
Tohoku University was one of 13 universities chosen by the Japanese government in 2009 to contribute to international higher education, and the university launched a series of degree programs that are primarily taught in English. Currently, the school has four main campuses, including Aobayama, Katahira, Kawauchi, and Seiryo. All four campuses have extremely convenient transportation systems. The system of libraries and research rooms is invested with high-tech applications. Students are also provided with common rooms for group work.
