The anime follows her numerous attempts to try to become more popular at her school, Makuhari Shuuei High School. She is socially awkward and frequently desperate. She is also one of the best shy girl characters in anime.

Tomoko was first very enthusiastic about high school. She couldn't have been happier with the anticipated upcoming years of popularity because she had more than enough dating experience with more than 100 boys in otome games! Tomoko is perplexed by her continued lack of popularity after two months of not speaking to anyone in her class and is more determined than ever to win over her classmates.
