Toyose

The Toyose concept is a Korean restaurant in an old converted garage that serves shrimp pancakes and corn cheese and is noted for staying open late. At the very least, it is reasonable to anticipate that this will not be your typical Tuesday night routine. Unless you have supper in your garage in the Outer Sunset on a regular basis.

Toyose is a terrific place to go when you want to shake up your routine, see a new area, and enjoy some Korean food. Especially when you have a large gathering that is sick of tacos, pizza, and pasta. Toyose's cuisine and atmosphere don't quite live up to the restaurant's intriguing notion, but it's still a pleasant spot to dine late at night. Corn cheese certainly tastes best when you're intoxicated at 1 a.m., and Toyose is notorious for its late hours.

The menu is extensive, with some clear winners and others clear strong passes. The seafood pancake, wings, and kimchi fried rice are all delicious, but the dry entire fried chicken is a letdown. When it comes to stews, they adore quick ramen just as much as the next person, but there's something a bit odd about having a hot pot brought out to your table with a brick to put into the soup.
