  1. Most Korean restaurants claim to provide everything under the sun, but they are actually separated into bibimbap, BBQ, and tofu soup experts. Han Il Kwan says screw it and specializes in all three, performing admirably in each.

Everyone has a favorite Korean BBQ place, and the best is Han Il Kwan. Snag a table with a grill and be ready to sweat meat - you'll need to order at least two huge platters of grilled meat, but the indulgence will be well worth it. The complimentary green onion pancakes and tofu stew, as well as the large assortment of banchan, are consistently delicious. Drink plenty of soju and huge bottles of Hite to wash it all down.

If you’re a little lost with all the grilling and serving, don’t fret. The attentive Korean staff will be there to guide you along. Do note that they are only taking walk-in diners for the time being due to the limited number of seats here, so be sure to swing by a little earlier to avoid disappointment.

    Manna

Manna, an Inner Sunset tradition and, arguably, one of the greatest venues for superb Korean food in the Bay Area, requires advance notice or a long wait. What distinguishes Manna from the competition? For starters, their fantastic kimchi — the right blend of heat and funk, salt and crunch will have you wanting for more to take home and use on everything — will have you begging for more to take home and use on everything. Their spicy-hot tofu stew (ideal for a cold San Francisco night), vegetarian and seafood pancakes, and kimchi fried rice are among the other standouts. Order extra of the latter to store in the fridge – it's one of the greatest hangover cures around.

The restaurant offers traditional Korean BBQ meals like galbi, as well as a few house specialties like its seven-minute jjigae (stew) and spicy yeoltan bulgogi. If you're having trouble finding a place to eat, this eatery can usually be found in any entertainment zone for a quick bite.

    Toyose

The Toyose concept is a Korean restaurant in an old converted garage that serves shrimp pancakes and corn cheese and is noted for staying open late. At the very least, it is reasonable to anticipate that this will not be your typical Tuesday night routine. Unless you have supper in your garage in the Outer Sunset on a regular basis.

Toyose is a terrific place to go when you want to shake up your routine, see a new area, and enjoy some Korean food. Especially when you have a large gathering that is sick of tacos, pizza, and pasta. Toyose's cuisine and atmosphere don't quite live up to the restaurant's intriguing notion, but it's still a pleasant spot to dine late at night. Corn cheese certainly tastes best when you're intoxicated at 1 a.m., and Toyose is notorious for its late hours.

The menu is extensive, with some clear winners and others clear strong passes. The seafood pancake, wings, and kimchi fried rice are all delicious, but the dry entire fried chicken is a letdown. When it comes to stews, they adore quick ramen just as much as the next person, but there's something a bit odd about having a hot pot brought out to your table with a brick to put into the soup.

  4. Dennis Lee is without a doubt the pioneer of Korean fusion cuisine in San Francisco. His food is a unique, savory, and San Francisco rendition of Korean food, from his now-legendary Korean tacos (available at the Ferry Building on farmers market days), served on the nori and topped with kimchee salsa and remoulade, to his seasonal, farm-driven variations on traditional ingredients at Namu Gaji. Other ethnic influences may be seen in his meals, but his versions of Korean fried chicken, bibimbap (a stone pot rice bowl topped with gochujang and an egg), and housemade pickles are standouts.

Namu Gaji, an elegant, sake-loving Korean cuisine business that's a takeout window by day and a woodsy dating place by night, is set to debut on Dolores Street on Saturday. On a beautiful day, this is where you'll fill your picnic basket en route to the park. Alternatively, come here with your date after sunset to warm up over rare sake bottles. Start with the Dolores sliding glass window, which leads into the kitchen. You'll order fried chicken and okonomiyaki, which are popular street foods near the Ferry Building. Alternatives to ice cream include sake-infused shaved ice.

  5. Surisan, a Korean-American restaurant, is located in the center of Fisherman's Wharf. Locals and visitors to the city may enjoy real Korean cuisine at this popular eatery. This restaurant is named after a Korean mountain and offers a relaxing inside or outdoor dining experience. It has a basic and contemporary interior. All of the items on the menu are professionally prepared using only organic ingredients, and the restaurant also has a bar. The service is superb, and the cuisine is spicy and wonderful. You must try their kimchi fried rice; you will not be disappointed.

Their heart is a delicious Asian-inspired American comfort breakfast and brunch, and their soul is inventive Korean dinners, and they're located in the heart of San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf neighborhood. They've created a refuge for those who like outstanding cuisine, drink, and service by combining young innovative chefs, top-quality, locally sourced organic products, and pleasant indoor and outdoor dining settings.
