T.S. Stoney Stoneman started his career as a draftsman and then a landman before joining the Danciger Oil & Refining Company in Fort Worth, Texas in 1926.
Mr. Stoneman purchased the company's first drilling rig with a personal cheque, which he claimed on his expenditure report. With The Offshore Company, he would subsequently play major leadership roles in pioneering offshore drilling.
Transocean employs over 25,000 people globally and is currently building 139 oil rigs and three extreme deep drilling complexes. The company's headquarters are in Vernier, near Geneva, and it has offices in 20 countries, including Switzerland, the United States, Norway, Scotland, Brazil, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
To safeguard and maintain its personnel offshore and onshore healthy and safe, Transocean is closely monitoring and implementing recommendations offered by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
